Canalside is no longer just a summer destination now that the new ice rinks are open.
Opening ceremonies begin at 5 p.m. Thursday the 18th with an acoustic performance by Neon Trees. Skating at the Canalside rinks opens to the public Thursday evening at approximately 6:15 p.m.
Other activities Thursday night include a Parade of Ice Activities at 5:45 and an ice performance to the music of Disney’s hit movie “Frozen” at 6 p.m..
The official ribbon cutting, followed by a Christmas tree lighting, will take place at 6:10.
Entrance fee will cost $5, or $3 for children 6 to 12 and free for children under 6. Skate rental costs $3.
