Google’s top searches of 2014

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Tuesday morning Google released the top searches and trends on their website in 2014. You can take a look back on this year with Google, by heading to Google.com/trends/2014/.

Robin Williams was the most searched term of the year on Google, after the star died in August. The second most searched term was World Cup, followed by Ebola, Malaysia Airlines and the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

The top celebrity searches of the year were Oscar Winner and Hunger games star Jennifer Lawrence and Reality star Kim Kardashian. New Zealand singer Lorde landed at number seven, Matthew McConaughey was number eight and former owner of the LA Clippers, Donald Sterling, was tenth most searched
