National adoption month extra, extra special for one WNY family

The holidays are a time to celebrate family, and a pair of local parents have a little something extra to be thankful for this year.  Make that two little somethings. Two-and-a-half-year old Brandon and his sister Lily look a little different, and they’re five months apart in age. But to their family, friends, teachers, even strangers, they might as well be twins. Their parents, Katie and Frank, don’t think there’s very much to figure out at all. They have fostered Brandon and Lily since they were both born. Earlier this month, they made things official at an adoption ceremony in Erie County Family Court. “It was like every other day,” Katie said, “because we’ve been a family since they were born. But it was very emotional. They were welcomed into our family from the moment they entered out house. But just singing the papers and making it official is really just unbelieveable.”

According to Gateway-Longview, there is a critical need for foster parents in Erie County. If you are interested in learning more, visit today.
