Decline in Digital as Streaming Soars

The music world saw some controversy this week as Taylor Swift decided to leave her 14 million Spotify fans hanging when she pulled her music off the online streaming site. But did Swift make the right call? We’re seeing a major shift in music downloading this year. The Recording Industry Association of America reported that in the U.S. sales of digital music fell 11% and 14% respectively during the first six months of  2014, while streaming music services saw revenue jump 28% in the first half of 2014. To breakdown the numbers, Lauren was joined by PR and social media expert, Jason Mollica, to discuss this shift in online streaming.
