It was a salute to our troops in the kitchen this morning as Jim and Brian Applebee’s joined Lauren to discuss the restaurant’s upcoming Veterans Day promotion. On Tuesday, November 11th, all Applebee’s locations are saying thank you to military service men and women by inviting veterans and active duty military to have a free meal. Jim and Brian prepared one of the free menu options offered on Veterans Day, the All-In Burger. Check out the recipe below!
American Standard All-In Burger Recipe
Fresh 80/20 Ground Chuck (7 oz.) formed into a loose ball
1 TBSP Raw Diced Pickles
1 TBSP Sauteed Diced Onions
1 TBSP Chopped Cooked Bacon
2 slices American Cheese
Signature Sauce – equal parts mayo/ketchup/mustard/BBQ sauce blended
Brioche Bun (or any other hearty bun)
Heat greased heavy flat top griddle or heavy frying pan to 350 degrees (preferably not non-stick surface to allow meat to caramelize properly)
Add pickles, onion and bacon to pan and then place ground chuck on top. Press burger into toppings to about ½” thick.
Top with fresh sea salt and cracked pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes.
Flip burger and scrape up toppings in pan with spatula and place on top of burger. Top with both slices of cheese and cook for about another 2-2.5 minutes. Remove burger from pan.
Lower heat slightly to toast both surfaces of bun. Cover bottom half of bun with signature sauce applied in a circular motion to complete cover the bun half and then place burger on top.
