Every Step Walk raises more than $35,000 for universal newborn screening

Winging It! Buffalo Style congratulates the Hunter’s Hope Foundation on raising more than $35,000 at the 2014 Every Step Walk on Saturday, September 27th in Lancaster’s Como Park. The walk is held each year in cities around the country to support universal newborn screening. Jim and Jill Kelly founded Hunter’s Hope in 1997 and named if after their son Hunter, who was born with Krabbe Leukodystrophy. Ever since, they’ve been dedicated advocates for the early detection and treatment of all diseases in all children, including Krabbe and other leukodystrophies. WIVB-TV’s Lauren Hall was thrilled to serve as one of the emcees for this special day. She joined 97 Rock’s DJ Jickster, Erie County Legislator Ed Rath, Hunter’s Hope Executive Director Andrea Moran, and Jill Kelly’s parents, Jerry and Jackie Waggoner and hundreds of others to support the walkers and the organization’s mission.
