Make-a-Wish celebrates 2500th WNY recipient at radiothon

When you love something, you can’t help but gush about. 97 Rock’s Larry Norton loves the mission of Make-A-Wish so much, he devotes 28 straight hours of airtime to the cause each year. Over the last two decades, Norton’s annual radio-thon has raised more than 2.6 million dollars to help make wishes come true for Western New York children living with life-threatening conditions. The 20th anniversary wasn’t the only milestone Make-A-Wish celebrated at the radtio-thon this year, though. The foundation’s WNY chapter also marked the granting of its 2500th wish, which went to a stroke survivor named Mariana. Mariana wished to publish her own book about her experience living with a medical hardship, with the hope that it would inspire other sick children in their fight to get better. Winging It! Buffalo Style‘s Lauren Hall was there as Mariana shared her story on the air during the radio-thon.

CW-23 was proud to donate a station tour and live viewing experience of Winging It! Buffalo Style to the auction portion of the Make-A-Wish radiothon. The package sold for a total of $2,000!
