HarborCenter staff takes the ice bucket challenge

From athletes to celebrities, musicians to politicians, service members to firefighters. The “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge” is taking over the internet, airwaves, and  raising critical funds and awareness for the fight against neurological disorder known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. According to Julie Garland of the ALS Association’s Upstate New York Chapter, the campaign has raised millions in recent weeks, and influenced an uptick in registration for local walks to defeat ALS.

Buffalo Sabres Broadcaster Brian Duff’s video produced a bit of local buzz when he posted it to YouTube. He took the challenge in memory of a friend who lost his battle to ALS earlier this summer. Even though Brian was feeling under the weather, wanted to make sure that the folks he challenged in his clip went through with their responsibility – especially HarborCenter President John Koelmel. Koelmel and his staff invited Winging It! Buffalo Style’s Lauren Hall along for the big moment. Watch it here!
