There’s no mistaking her bright red hair and facial expressions, as Lucille Ball has become one of the most recognized comedians in television history.
Journey Gunderson, the Executive Director of the Lucy & Desi Museum and Center for Comedy, joined Matt on the couch today for a closer look at why America still loves Lucy after all these years.
Lucy’s storied career and pioneer-status in the world of female comedy is the inspiration behind the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, taking place in her hometown of Jamestown, NY each summer. From stand up and improv classes to grape stomping, and even performances by Jay Leno, Tom Cotter and Caroline Rhea, the festival celebrates everything that Lucy loved.
The festival takes place from August 6-10 in Jamestown – head over to www.LucyComedyFest.com for more information.
