The grain elevators will tower over Silo City with new light next weekend as City of Night brings art, culture, music and more to the historic area of Buffalo.
Happening June 28 from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. City of Night is a one-night multi-disciplinary art event, taking place at a grouping of historic, privately-owned grain elevators on the Buffalo River, just off Ohio Street. Emerging Leaders in the Arts Buffalo toured the space in fall of 2011, envisioning a large art event there. What they did not know was the enormity of public response that was to follow: the event attracted 3,500 attendees at the first event in September 2012 and 12,000 at their event last July.
With art installations in and outside the grain elevators, live music, theater and dance performance, an art fair, interactive art and cultural booths, food trucks, beer and wine tent, and water taxi and bike valet, the event has something for everyone.
