Creekview Goes “Bananas” for Mardi Gras


INGREDIENTS

-1 stick of butter
-2 cups brown sugar
-1/2 c dark rum
-1 vanilla bean split and scraped
-2 teaspoon cinnamon
-1 teaspoon fresh nutmeg
-6 bananas split lengthwise
-2 pints vanilla ice cream

DIRECTIONS
1). Combine butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla bean in a large saute pan over med low hear; stir until sugar dissolves
2). Place bananas in pan and saute for 2-3 minutes
3). Carefully add rum off heat, return pan to heat and tilt slightly to ignite; when the flame subsides the bananas foster are ready to be served over vanilla ice cream
